A few new offseason purchases brought a bit of a new look to spring training this year.

The first offseason acquisition became the Canon 35mm f/1.4L II that I was able to break in on an overseas trip to Europe and a few Wild games while between the benches.

In addition to Canon 35mm, I purchased the Sigma Art 85mm f/1.4 and 135mm f/1.8, thanks to the recommendation from Rockies photog Matt Dirksen. After arriving a few days into spring training, I used them almost exclusively on a daily basis.

First off, a handful of spring training favorites from the Canon 35mm f/1.4L II.

Overall, the Canon 35mm f/1.4L II is exceptionally sharp. I’ve found it a little slow when it comes to moving action, but not the end of the world.

Next up: A collection of the Sigma Art 85mm and 135mm primes.

Suffice to say, the Sigma lenses will be in my daily arsenal for games this upcoming season…they exceeded every expectation I had.
